Welcome to The Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop!! I am so excited to be a part of this new hop that my good friend Andrea and Pam put together and asked me to participate! We are starting off with the most awesome Paper Pumpkin kit ever!!  This month's kit, A Sara Thing was designed by Stampin Up's CEO, Sara Douglass and it is FABULOUS!!  We will inspire you with all kinds of fantastic projects using this month's kit!

Check out my blog for several alternative ideas on April 2017's Paper Pumpkin Kit at www.thecreativitycave.com including video tutorials! #stampinup #thecreativitycave

These are the projects that this month's kit makes (I know this pic has the "play" button–it is not a video just a pic).  The projects are ADORABLE and super fun!  The kit includes TONS of stuff–it makes 12 cards–4 of each design.  It also includes a paint brush, a mini set of watercolor pencils, glitter flowers, a stamp set, a roll of washi tape, and all the pre-cut pieces needed to create these cards. Make sure you scroll to the end of my projects to find out how you can get one of these kits FREE!!!!!

Gather Your Supplies:

  • April 2017 A Sara Thing Paper Pumpkin Kit
  • 1/2 Sheets of Lemonlime Twist (or Whipser White since you don't have it yet! ;))
  • Layering Circles Framelits
  • Eastern Medallion Thinlits (coming May 1st for Customers!!)
  • Black Cardstock (3 5/8 x 4 /8")
  • Watercolor Paper ( 3 1/2 x 4 3/4") for Best Freiend Card

For my first project, carefully open one of the envelopes and trim to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4" to create card. I also die cut the Medallion image in black cardstock.  This framelit will be coming in May as part of a super awesome customer special!!

The rest of the card is super easy–just stamp the sentiment, adhere the flower and the acrylic glitter flower from the Paper Pumpkin Kit to the card and adhere to the card with Washi Tape!

So cute! So Easy!!

This card was done much in the same way, however I just stamped the sentiment on the sticker panel and adhered it to the card and added the purple glitter flower.

Again, so quick and easy!

For this card, I created a watercolor background by mixing the yellow and blue colored pencils on scrap paper and mixed with water and the paint brush.  I added a little more yellow to keep the lime color light.

The circle is another "envelope inside" and punched with the 2" circle punch layered with the scallop circle from the Layering Circles framelits.

Just pop it up on top of the dry watercolor bacgkround/strip of washi tape panel.

She stated in her blog that she is a “Display Stamper”. What’s a display stamper? Sorry o have to bug you, but am thankful you are willing to help! God Bless for all you do!

  12. Hello Dena, so sorry that you are having surgery. Trust it will go well for you. Of your three creations, I like the first one the best. Maybe it’s because the I love the new Lemon-Lime Twist color. But taking the envelope apart and making a card is a great idea. Now…you heal soon!
