Welcome to The Creation Station Blog Hop! Whether this is your first stop or you are coming from the LOVELY Jennifer's Blog, I am so thrilled you are here at The Creativity Cave! Make yourself at home and enjoy your stay! I am SOOOO excited about our theme this month: Spring Flowers!! I have 2 different types of projects to share–a really pretty "classic spring" card and several fun cards based on a theme. I hope you like them–I had such a good time making them and I am positive that if I had a little more time I would have made a bunch more! 🙂
This card is just gorgeous (if I can just say) and I basically just CASED a card that I had made last week–you can check out that post here. I used the same colors but instead of the vellum, I colored on Whisper White Cardstock. I heat embossed the image first in white. It was actually really quick and easy because I just "messy" watercolored with my ink pads and aqua painter. The background is done with the Hardwood Background and the ribbon is Burlap Trim and Crochet Trim (I think it is a fabulous shabby-chic look).
Obviously I had to finish it off with some Wink of Stella (which is tricky to photograph) for a bit of shimmer. I just love Lilacs. They are the epitome of spring (both looking and smelling!)
I really love how this turned out! Hope you do, too!
Now my next projects are also really pretty–but totally different!
The original theme for our hop was Botanical Blooms (but we changed it to be Spring florals to expand the options a bit) I still believe that Botanical Blooms was about the best thing ever in our Occasions Catalog–so I figured I would REPRESENT!! I love how simple these cards are–but yet each has a little different twist. First of all do you see the background??? That is some Fun Foam Stamping–I cut the stamen image from the Botanical Builder Framelits in Fun Foam and stamped it!!! ….pause for the awesomeness of that to sink in…
You can see a video explaining it from my Friday Quickie Series post from the day before yesterday, here.
Here is a video of these cards:
The card is created with a 2 1/2" circle punched with Typeset DSP, 2-Fun Flower punches in Soft Sky cardstock. The smaller Pool Party Flower, leaf and White Stamen were all cut from the Botanical Builder Framelits. The Pool Party flower has some Wink of Stella on it, too but you can't really see that in my photo (again so hard to capture). The center is finished off with a Perfect White Accent.
I really love the look! The Greeting is from Crazy About You. SO pretty!
The following cards are just versions of the first–but with little tweaks here and there. I used a 1/2" x 3 3/4" strip of fun foam for the background. Stamped in white.
The center is the same–just slightly different flowers.
Love how that turned out!
The last 2 are basically the same-just switched up colors and backgrounds! The center of the Coral flower is a Perfect White Accent colored with Black Sharpie.
So pretty!! I loved the background!
The last card is a bold background (fun foam again) and I love how cute it looks! Hope you love the projects!
