Welcome to another week and another fantastic color challenge at SIP!  I have to admit, when I first saw this challenge, I kinda hated it! 🙂  But like all things, I am often more open to the possibilities once I get going! First of all, I looked at the colors and thought they reminded me of the colors from the paisley set.  And since like every third card on my blog lately has been done with Vintage Leaves, I figured I better branch out a bit!

Check out the video tutorial on my blog for my take using this unique color combo www.thecreativitycave.com #stampinup #thecreativitycave #sipchallenge

I love the look–I started doing a the full strength version of this, but decided I loved the softer look of the stamped off version. Once you get everything diecut, it goes super quickly!

Here is the full-strength version.  A little more intense, rich color so I put it on the Cajun Craze base with Razzleberry Ribbon and I like this one, too!

  1. Wow, I love these! The sparse color softens the color scheme a little bit with all that white space. This is a great layout to showcase the multitiered medallions. Gorgeous! I have this stamp set and need to use it more, it feels like you really have to invest time to get a decent card with this set. Thanks for the inspiration!
P.S. I know what you mean about every other card using vintage leaves! (Guilty!)

  2. Thanks Dena! I love your enthusiasm for your craft! You did a great job of showcasing alternate ways of using the Paisley set! When I don’t want to cover up special papers I use to frame a card front, I grab a punch & punch out a shape I use a lot. That way I don’t feel like I’m wasting paper 🙂 Thanks again for your ideas!
