Hey everyone! I was sitting down to stamp some more Christmas Card samples and was having a little trouble getting going, so I decided to look at a couple of challenges. I needed some Thank You cards for my October Orders and so I pulled out my fav floral stamp set and this is what I came up with…
So I started with the Global Design Project Challenge–That is my go-to for card challenges! I loved the banner accent in the top corner, and knew I wanted to incorporate that into my card.
Bibi is one of my favorite stampers–so I was excited to see that the this week's challenge was to CASE the Designer. I don't have the set she used, and I really wanted to play with my Blooms and Wishes Stamp set so I went to work!
I warmed up with this card–super basic and simple! It is based on the card sketch at Fab Friday. Just a 1/2 sheet of Vanilla plus a 4 x 5 1/4" Vanilla. Super simple, but super pretty–any color would look great, but I went with Rich Razzleberry and some Old Olive and then spritzed with some Delightful Dijon. The sentiment is from Thankful Thoughts.
Next I wanted to kick it up a notch and add the banner embellishment. I added in some more colors to the Razzleberry and Olive: Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon and Night of Navy. So pretty but simple! The banner is punched with the banner punch (on the Clearance Rack–don't miss it!) and then I stapled it to the card with some Navy Baker's Twine. Next, I saw this challenge from Addicted to CAS:
I LOVE how this card turned out!!! You know I can't stop w ith the Faux Watercoloring Technique I introduced a couple of weeks ago–and this set is one of my favorite sets for this technique. Isn't it gorgeous???? I omitted the banner as I felt it was a bit too much for the CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge. The card is just stunning in person!
Finally, I had to kick it up one more notch for the GDP Challenge! 🙂 I added some flowers punched with the Blossom Builder and Tree Builder punches and did the Faux Suede technique with them. I just love the look. A few pearls and the banner punch embellishment just finishes off the card with the right amount of everything! What do you think?
It turned out so beautifully in person–I just love it and I can't wait to send it out!
