I present to you, The Box-a-lope!

Check out how easy it is to create a Box of Cards using Stampin Up's Paper Pumpkin Kit. VIdeo tutorial on my blog!

Check out the box I made using an envelope and the ADORABLE cards that coordinate to fit inside!  What a beautiful gift this would be for someone!  How much would this brighten someone's day to send?  Best part?  They are really easy to make and don't require too many supplies!  My kind of project!  To start with, I am using the stamps and one of the envelopes from this month's Paper Pumpkin kit, Hello Sunshine!  It is an adorable kit.  The projects it makes are these:

Really cute!!  I especially liked the envelopes included in the kit and I was thinking about what I could do with that adorable envelope.  I decided that it was perfect for a bag-a-lope (remember back in the day that was like a "really fancy" use of your crafty skills????  Well, I thought why not a box for some cards instead (to be honest, I just don't use that many treat bags/gift bags.  Not at this size anyway.  So after a few score lines, things started coming together!! Did I just invent something????? This is how you name new stamping techniques (after yourself, of course)–so I present to you:  THE BOX-A-LOPE!!!  Now I have not done the ground work to determine if this is a truly original term, but since it is new on my blog and I believe I am at least mostly awesome, maybe we just call it The Creativity Cave by Dena Rekow Box-a-Lope.  That's not a mouthful is it?  I stand my my new stamping term! 😉

The video shows the steps (they are really quite simple).  A few score lines and a few snips and away you go!

I was particularly proud of the closure–its magnetic and I explain it in the video. The bow paper clip is the perfect little embellishment that is also the closure via magnetic attraction! Pretty clever, if I do say so myself!  It is what you would expect of a rubber stamping pioneer, such as my self–I mean I already have a stamping term named after me now! 😉

The magnet is held in place with a glue dot.  That's it!  I am so smart sometimes!!!!

If you see that there is something wrong with this card, I suspect it is a problem with your vision, not a smudge of ink….just sayin!

Each card is cuter than the next and I think you could get about 5 total in the box before there were some unmentionable bulges.  I used the set, Pretty Thankful, which is where the cute line frames came from (and the leaf image–the only thing that could have made this Paper Pumpkin kit better).  The Pretty Thankful set adds a lot of versatility to the Paper Pumpkin set (I've got another post on it tomorrow) and I think it is the perfect combination for some GORGEOUS cards that are really easy to stamp.

I took the color combo right off the envelope–used Pool Party for the frame–and the florals are Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride and Blackberry Bliss (with Pear Pizzazz).  Really great together and not necessarily a color combo I would have thought of on my own!  I added a few sequins from the kit on each card as well.

  1. Dena, great project today! I loved the cards esp but that box-a-lope is so much fun! Using that little bow paper clip is the best! Maybe a Christmas one using the reindeer clip? I think I will need to practice on a plain envelope first as I don’t want to ruin one of the special ones! Thanks for the ideas!
