Welcome to Friday Quickies Techniques and Tips! This week we are going to work with Stampin Up's NEW Watercolor Pencils! They are so amazing and I just love how nicely they blend and color! You won't be disappointed! So let's check out some fun ways of using them!
Gather Your Supplies for the Happy For You Card:
- 1/ sheet So Saffron
- 5 3/8 x 4 1/8" Printed Paper (Cupcakes and Carousels DSP)
- 3 x 4 1/4" watercolor Paper
- 3 1/8 x 4 3/8" Basic Gray Cardstock
- Watercolor pencils
- Stampin Spritzer
- Basic Gray ink
- Beautiful You Stamp Set
- Aquapainters
Draw a light rainbow of color on the watercolor paper and spritz with water and allow colors to blend. Use aqua painter to help the process along. Once COMPLETELY dry, stamp girl and sentiment.
Isn't this just gorgeous?! Do you love this set? I have an online class for it–check out the deets on my online class page here. It also includes lots of tips for using the Watercolor Pencils!!
I love this next card, too–so different from the last–bold, bright and fun!
Gather Your Supplies for Hi You are awesome:
- 1/2 Sheet of Melon Mambo
- 3 1/2 x 4 3/4" Watercolor Paper
- 3 5/8 x 4 7/8" Basic Black Cardstock, plus scraps
- Large Letters Framelits
- Fun Foam Sheet (black if you can!)
- Gold Wink of Stella
- Multipurpose Glue
- Fast Fuse
- Aqua Painter
On this card, I started with Watercolor Paper and then I drew a circle of Daffodil Delight and colored it, adding rings of color going out from the first yellow one. Blend each color with an aqua apainter, one at a time. Allow to dry completely before adding die cut "hi" and sentment.
I die cut the letters in both black cardstock and black fun foam–it is the easiest way to pop up the letters–and I think it makes a huge difference on the card. I also covered the cardstock letters with Gold Wink of Stella (photo does not do it justice!)
Isn't it aweomse! (get it?!)
Next I just drew and blended out polka dots on watercolor paper! SUPER easy and ADORABLE!!
Of course the inside needed some fun, too!!
Lastly, I just colored with several pink, purple, coral, orange shades and blended till I was happy–stamped when dry. SO Easy! I highly recommend just playing! You never know what you will end up with!! And it is so much fun!!!
