Welcome to Friday Quickie Techniques and Tips!  I have a great technique today–it is based on some cards I created for my FB Live last week (not like this week like I say in the video).  You can see the FB Live I am refering to on my blog here.

Gather Your Supplies: (Dimensions are the same for all)

  • 3 1/2 x 4 3/4" Watercolor Paper
  • 3 5/8 x 3 7/8" Mat Layer (Mine are Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay, and Lemon Lime Twist)
  • 1/2 Sheets of cardstock (mine are Berry Burst, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay)
  • Night of Navy, Peekaboo Peach, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party Ink pads
  • Various Greetings: Special Celebrations, Hello Friend, Ribbon of Courage, Thoughtful Thanks Stamp set
  • Sweetheart Embossing Folder, Pinewood Planks
  • Aqua Painters
  • Journaling Pens
  • Clear Wink of Stella

The easiest way to doodle is to start by painting various circles or dots on the watercolor paper in different sizes.  Add leaves in Lemon Lime Twist.  Once completely dry, add in the swirls on a few flowers with the Journaling Markers.

Here I started with 3 large circles and added some different types of doodles with the journaling pens.  The sentiment (which I LOVE) is from Ribbon Of Courage.

Here I did the same, just added more flowers, more doodles, and more lines. Sentiment is from Thoughtful Thanks.

The Background is embossed with the Sweetheart Folder (the heart is covered).

This card is super fun and super easy.  The flowers are just kind of U's colored in, I added the dots an lines with the journaling pens and the HELLO is from Hello Friend.  The background is embossed with the new Pinewood Plank Dynamic Embossing Folder.  So much fun!  Are you a VIP Rewards member?  I have another fun video taking this project a little further on our FB page–make sure to check it out! 🙂
