Good evening all my peeps!! I am sorry to be coming to you so late today, but as it turns out my family seems to want to eat dinner EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT! I don't understand this! If they would just cut me some slack every so often…
Anywho, I am thrilled (hello? I am always thrilled when it comes to stamping) with this week's Friday Quickie–Washi Tape is awesome stuff–it is like printed paper that has adhesive on one side! I have several examples of what to do with it on my video–and the first one is also a study in how to add to your card to make it awesome. I start with a simple but cute card, and I show how to step it up!
So this is the "stepped up" version–but it is still quite simple! I added the washi tape over the stamped image, ran it through the Polka Dot Embossing Folder, spritzed with marker and then added the Butterfly. Very simple!
Of course, I also added the wink of stella–hard to photograph–wonderful to see in person! ๐
So gorgeous!!
The next card I showed was inspired by this card that my Downline's Mom posted on my FB Business Page:
This card is one Jean made (much of it is retired stuff, but isn't it adorable?!) She asked about the technique and requested a video, so here you go!
On my card, I used the Everyday Chic Washi Tape and just freehand cut the Bermuda Bay layer. I pulled the two apart and popped them up on a white panel, then trimmed the excess off.
I added the Hello (from Crazy About You Bundle) and on the inside:
I added some more accents of Washi Tape and stamped the flower, leaf and greeting (from the same Crazy About You bundle).
Some more cards for inspiration:
In this card, I created a Shaker Card. For my VIP's I'll have a video on how to put this together on our FB page!!
Here is another card that I will post an additional video on my VIP page on how to make it. The panel pulls out to reveal a hidden message! Squee!!! I used the Little Letter Thinlits and the Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp sets. The party hat is from the Sale-a-bration set, Hello.
Very simple card using my fav: Botanical Blooms Framelits!
And the matching envelope (made with Envelope Paper and the Envelope Punch board to fit my 3 1/2"x 5 1/2" card. The Washi Tape makes the perfect "adhesive" to hold it closed! Since it is kind of low-tack or mostly repositionable, it works great to hold it temporarily closed!
This card is great to show how versatile Washi Tape can be–a fancy card with Washi accents is awesome! I watercolored this card and love how it turned out!
Here is the Washi Accent–I just added a button on top. Fancy, huh?

I love all of these, but the happy birthday pullout card and the shaker card are just: WOW!!!! I’m really into making shaker cards to put into my kids lunchboxes and I’ve used beads and sequins to fill the clear podkets I make with my fuse tool. What a BRILLIANT idea to use those adorable mini punches from the birthday suite to fill the shaker cards and to use vellum steps it up another notch! Out of this world: Dena, you always amaze me with your talent and creativity. LOVE it!!! Alex.
Pockets, I meant ๐ My excitement got the best of me, I’ll proofread next time before I post. Heh, heh….
Hard to pick a fave….the pullout “happy” card is darling, but I think my fave is the diagonal black/white/gray washi with the melon mambo flower on it. Gotta love those Botanicals. I need an anniversary card and a birthday card before the end of this month, so I’m using these cards as inspiration. Thanks for sharing.
I really like that one, too Sherry!

HI, Dena, did you ever post the VIP video on the Happy Birthday pull-out card? I am dying to make this one! Can you provide the link for that VIP video?
These are all adorable…loved the shaker card VIP video, too. Geri
Hi Geri–that is on our VIP Page. Ill tag you over there–I just have not had time to look for it ๐
Awesome tricks done with the washi tapes , I will definitely go for it
Great! Have fun!
I love your cards, especially the 6th from top; very colorful. Can you please tell me what spritzing marker your used for the cards? I’m a newbie to making cards and would like to try one of your designs but don’t know how to spritz. Thank you!
