Friday Quickie Techniques and Tips: Timeless Textures

Check out the video on my blog for how to make this gorgeous card using Stampin Up's Timeless Textures plus a bunch more samples!

Happy Friday Everyone!  I am so excited about this week's technique-it is all on how to use the set, Timeless Textures!  I'll be honest, I was certain that this set would be awesome, but the samples in the Occasions Catalog were not thrilling me!  I decided I wanted to sit down and really get to work with this set.  I am so excited about how things turned out and I can't wait to share it all with you!

As you can see, you can build up the backgrounds starting very simply and moving to a more sophisticated, layered look by the end.  Each of these is the same card–the only thing that changed were the stamped images added.  The layers of cardstock and flowers all are the same.  Love how these turned out!  But, this was just the beginning! After I conqurered the Smoky Slate look, I thought I would go a little bolder…

These each have a black background stamped on white and then I played with the textures on the punched flowers.

This card kicks that up a notch–more than one pattern, and bright flowers on top of the black and white!

So far, all but one of the cards has used the Fun Flower and 7/8" scallop circle punches.  the leaves are just 2 petals from the fun flower punch! The Greeting is from One Big Meaning.

Here I used the woodgrain image in Lost Lagoon ink on Lost Lagoon paper. I added the Fun Flower punched with Typeset DSP and embellished the center!

The butterfly is cut from Typeset DSP with the detailed butterfly in black.  I added a Iced Rhinestone in the center and some silver thread behind the whole thing.

The thing that I love about this set is how versatile it is!!  This sweet card I made with one of the designs and the set, Friendly Wishes (the heart is in the Friendly Wishes set, too).  I used Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry.  It is so fun and was super quick to make–now that's my kind of card!

  1. Another amazing video. I wish we were a bit closer so I could come and hang out and play! You just have too much fun with your ideas and videos! This set just moved up big time on my wish list. The flourish and the coffee/tea stain are my favorites in the set. The stain looks like a “C” so maybe I can use it with my name!
