Today's Quickie Video tip comes from a great little tip on page 44 of Stampin Up's Holiday Catalog: Create a stencil using the frameits!!  WHAT!?!?!?  How amazing is that?  Why didn't I think of it before now!?!?  Well check out how easy it is to create this beautiful card in my Friday Quickie Series Video:

Leaf Stencils cut from Vellum

Here are some stencils from the Leaflets framelits.  I cut them from Vellum Cardstock–that way you can see through them to see where you are placing each stencil in relation to the rest of your card.

Gold Frame (sharpie marker) and Faux Suede Background Layer

I used a Gold Sharpie marker for the border on this card! GOLD is aweosme!!! You can get Silver Sharpies, too!!  One more thing you can see in this picture is the Faux Suede technique (where you rip the cardstock apart and the middle is like suede–you just run your bone folder over your cardstock , back and fourth, over and over unil it separates.  It adds a cool texture to your cards!

Here are some more projects I made with this technique:

Simple Stencil Sympathy Card

This is the first one I did–Let's be honest it is not that great (especially when you compare it to the next several cards!!  But a starting point is always good–you can always improve and get better–you just gotta start somewhere!

Several Stenciled Leaves Sympathy Card

Here was the next one–a little more excitement here–more stencils used and I tried the leaf from Vintage Leaves (another great set that coordinates with these framelits!!)

Sympathy Leaves

Then I made this card–and I was super excited about how great it turned out!!  This was one of our Club projects this month and I just love how beautiful those colors work together.  I also think that while this is a Sympathy card, most any occasion would be great on this card.

Embossed Leaves with Stencils

Today, I came into my office determined to make some more cards with this technique and I was thrilled with these cards!!  This one uses that Gold Sharpie and the color combo from yesterday's post!  LOVE IT!!!!  The greeting is from the set, Watercolor WIshes (it is the awesome card kit) and after I smodged it wth my inky fingers (see just above and to the left of the Y) I figured if I spritzed it with my marker, I would have camoflauged it!!  PERFECT!!!!

Shades of Green Lighthearted Leaves Stenciled

Next came the one from the video, then this one–I knew greens would look awesome!!  Old Olive, Pear Pizazz, and Garden Green with black!  LOVE IT!  Greeting is from August's Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Spritzing Looks Fantastic–and adds a great touch!  I figured I'd add a little embellishment, too and the Vanilla thick baker's twine is PERFECT!

I then decided to change up my video design slightly–and loved how this one turned out with the black inked leaf (in place of the embossing) and I went a bit stonger with the sponging!  Added a bit more of embellishing and loved how that looked, too! Greeting is from Tin of Cards.
