FUN FOAM IS FUN!!!! And it is not just for your kids crafts, either!!! There are no Door Hangers here!! We have Mafia Weddings instead….I'll get to that!
This is sooooooo fun to work with and the possibilities are ENDLESS! Now before you go thinking you don't need to buy stamps anymore, you would be wrong!!! You will always need stamps, you will always need stamps, you will always need stamps…..The fun foam is not a long term option–it won't last forever–but it will be a great addition to your dies and create some very cool stuff! I had a blast cutting it with my different thinlits and I am certain I am not yet done playing!
This card is just so pretty!! It is hands down my favorite of the bunch!! I love the simplicity of it and the best part was how easy it was to put together! I used Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy. I added the accents in Silver Glimmer Paper with the white flowers punched from the Fun Flower punch. SOOOOO pretty! I also really like how the layers of ink look. The Pool Party kinda creates a "halo" under the other colors, which is fun!
But the silver accents are my FAV! just love how simply pretty it all looks together!
Of course after I die cute the Hello for the first card, I knew I had to cut it in foam!!! YES!!! Word stamps to go with my word diecuts!! YAY!
Clearly I needed to cut out ALL my Hello diecuts!! :) This is from the Hello You Thinlits. I thought it paired perfectly with the Ray of Sunshine Stamp set! Very cute card (despite my Yellow flub-ups!) Sheesh! I'm letting it go….I'm letting it go……
Well if you do one of the words, you kind of have to do them all! I combined the Thanks with a wider strip of Fun Foam and stamped them both on the diagonal of the card and I think it looks great–could see this with all kinds of color combos. I did stamp it on Watercolor paper hoping it would work a bit differently, but I like the look I got!
I added a few punched flowers (with a bit of wink of stella on them–the pic doesn't really show it). I then added the spritz of black that just looks cool in the background!
A few rhinestones always seem to finish off a card! Layered it up on some Basic Black and Pool Party Cardstock.
The card kind of photographed a little weird for some reason (I think my camera can't handle the fact that I used Pool Part with Wisteria Wonder (and Basic Black) ! The best part of this is the BUTTERFLIES!! Now I have seen them cut with fun foam in the past–I think it was my friend Mercedes that did it last year. I just never got around to trying her awesomeness!! The background is that same wider strip of fun foam, this time in a straight line.
Now this card truly represents my brilliance!! When I did this post a couple weeks ago, I was really bummed that this center wasn't one of the stamps in the Botanical Blooms Set. So, I just made my own!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it and can you say way easier that cutting a bunch of these in black cardstock and gluing them to the background (I am not going to lie, the thought did run through my head back when I did that post!!!) I know, CRAZY TOWN!
But, this is the card you are probably dying to see (if you watched the video)…my Mafia Funeral meets Vegas Wedding all occasion "happy" card. I think this could be a new market for my business!!!! Imagine the possibilities! Now before you go getting offended (whether you are indeed a member of the Mafia, a person who has planned on or did in fact get married in a "classy" Vegas wedding, or you are an East-coaster with Italian roots and heavy makeup, my intention was not to single you out with this card….just so we are clear!)
I think the photo tones down the gawdyness of it all…. (that's a word, right?) Spell check wants to spell it differently, but in my mind there is absolutely a w and Y in that word!
I really do like this card, before you think I am just making fun of it…I think that it is just not quite right. Maybe I will try to re-work it. I absolutely think it is redeemable!
The card is on a Pear Pizzazz card base which has been stamped with the Timeless Textures "masking tape" image. Awesomeness!
Hope this Edition of Friday Quickies has made you laugh. Hope it has made you shake your head. Hope it has made you think twice about spellings and how heavy you wear your makeup! My job here is done! 🙂 It is always my goal to inspire and to entertain! I hope you are ready to get out and try some of this fun foam– maybe you have a door-hanger you can cut up! 😉

I love them all! And I just bought some Fun Foam! I’ll be in my craft room the rest of the day. Thanks for your ideas and inspiration!
Love the card and what you did with the foam!
Dena – I so look forward to your videos – such fun! I have been cutting fun foam with dies as well and use Aleene’s Tack-It Over & Over. Works well and I can stick them inside my case holding the dies.
Thanks for sharing your inspiration and creativity!
AWESOME Dena – Can’t wait to share with my stamping gals! Of course will be doing it myself. I have tried this before. Question? – are you just using one thickness of fun foam? Note – If you cover the fun foam with 2-Way glue and let dry it will stick to the blocks without the adhesive.
Oh my gosh, you are brilliant! Love all of these, but my absolute favorite is the card with the botanical blooms center die cut stamped in black in the background — love the idea of making stamps with those die cuts!!! Thanks for the inspiration!
I love that you share your excitement in your videos.
Thank you so much, Nana!! I really love to share!

I love this idea to create backgrounds about died laughing at your comments about you last card–I was thinking….funeral???….no it has “happy” on it….and you said Mafia Funeral–perfect!! Now to find that fun foam that I’ve been hoarding for a future crafty project. =-)
Mafia funeral or a Vegas wedding, and East-coaster…. made me chuckle. Hey! the card of the “messed up sun”–how about flicking some yellow onto it and create tiny splotches. Just found you yesterday (4/27/16), and I love your videos. You actually make me inspired to make a card today. I should watch you every day.
How did you adhere the glimmer paper words.?
Tombow glue 🙂
Just watched the video. Love this technique and your cards. thank you.
So glad to hear, Ina!!
