Oh how excited am I about this?? TOTALLY! I find that when I have something totally different planned, and something else ends up happening, it is sometimes the best work!! That happened today! I had something COMPLETELY different planned (probably do it next week) and I wanted to do a wood background with my Timeless Textures Stamp Set, I ended up creating a FAUX Weathered Wood Background (you know–like the background paper in my videos!!) Here is how easy it is:
You can't see it (you never seem to be able to)… the Pansy (smaller of the Vanilla flower punches) is covered in Wink of Stella (so pretty–its kind of a crime that my camera refuses to capture it!) It just adds so much!
The rest of the flowers/leaves/stamen are from the Botanical Builders Framelits (you MUST have these!!) and the greeting is from the set, Cottage Greetings. I think this is perfect for a wedding card–that is why I added pearls, too!
SO this beauty is the same–but I started with Crumb Cake cardstock (instead of Vanilla from the card above). I still inked in Crumb Cake. I also left a bit of space between each wood plank–that was by accident, but I liked the look. These are the flowers I was rambling about in my video (sorry–sometimes it is super hard to commentate as you are trying to look professional while stamping)! I turned each flower a slightly different direction and crumpled them (flowers are never identical, nor flat in real life). I think that makes the card look even better!
The flowers are so pretty–the colors are: BOTTOM: Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Black Archival, Middle (left) Wisteria Wonder, Rich Razzleberry and Elegant Eggplant. Top (right) is Rose Red, Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green and Mossy Meadow.
I just love the look!! And doesn't this look really nature-y?! I think so, too! That is why I think it is the perfect card for The Global Design Project this week! You can see more about the amazing challenges they do by clicking the image below!
Isn't it great when things work out!? 🙂
For my last card, I turned things on the side–literally! I stamped the wood going in a vertical direction instead of the horizontal direction from the other two. The planks are long and skinny (I wish I was long and skinny!). I thought it was across between a fence and a door, so I threw a wreath on it! 🙂
The Wreath is from the set, Wondrous Wreath, a fantastic all season wreath set. This time I stamped on a White background for the faux wood (still in Crumb Cake ink) and the bright spring flowers are so pretty and a great contrast to the wood. I punched them with the Petite Petal Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and Tree Builder Punch. Added pearls and the greeting is from And Many More. I think this could be a card for just about any occasion!
Don't these planks look cool! I stamped off and filled in the gaps with the wood stamp. Because in nature there isn't a lot of white space, either! 🙂
Bright and happy!
