VELLUM!!!!  Vellum is awesome!  There are so many different things you can do with vellum that I LOVE!!  I have just scratched the surface in today's video, too! I could have kept right on stamping more cards because there are just so many fantastic ways to use it!  But here are a few of my favorite ones:

Of course none of my pictures do this card justice, but it is absolutely gorgeous!!  I just love how it turned out–and a few of the details just don't show up–like the wink of stella that adds some gorgeous shimmer on this card!

The color combo is an awesome one that I am certain to revisit!

The video shows how I did the watercoloring.  I really like how gorgeous it turned out–and Lilacs (especially the smell) are the true sign of spring–in my honest opinion!  I think you could heat emboss the image in white, but I really like the matte look of the white ink on the vellum.  I think the embossing would kind of take that away and I'm not sure i'd like it as well.  The look is subtle and it is so easy to do.  Plus I am absolutely lazy.  Heat embossing requires dragging out all kinds of stuff.  While there is a time and place for that, I'm not sure it is this card!! 🙂

I wish you could appreciate how stunning it really is in "real life".  Maybe you should just come visit me and stamp! 😉

On this fun card, I started with some printed vellum–the Botanical Garden Vellum stack–found in the Sale-a-bration catalog.  The awesome part is that it is FREE!!  The cool part is it is already printed so you don't have to do that yourself.  I punched the petals with the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  The stem and greeting are from Grateful Bunch.  It actually came together pretty quickly!

So pretty!

For a fun birthday card, I used the Balloon Celebrations Stamp set and placed vellum over the Its My Party DSP.  Tones down busy backgrounds.  This isn't so much a busy backgound, but it is a nice way to make a subtle card.  Greeting is from Happy Happenings.

Told you I liked stamping white ink on vellum!

This card is so pretty–it uses the Floral Frame Collection Thinlits and I love the layered look.  Each petal is curled for a dimensional look, despite not being all that thick. I love that! THe center is stamped in Blushing Bride ink with the flower from Beautiful Bunch.  The vellum softens the background.  Greeting is from Bravo!

Spritzing–because I can't help myself. I love the look!  And it is so easy!  Can you see the pressure embossing? I show it in the video, too!

Now can you see it? 🙂 It is super fun–and something that I need to play with a bit more–I'm thinking there is more fun in this concept to be had!

Of course diecutting with vellum is AWESOME!!  I diecut the butterfly thinlit with vellum and it tones down the butterfly.  Some Silver Metallic Thread, Perfect White Embellishments, and you guessed it, spritzing for a fabulous get well soon card.  Who wouldn't feel better if this card came to them in the mail?

Isn't it pretty?!?!?!?

Hello graduation?!  Tis the season before you know it.  I used the Number of Years stamp set and framelits for this one.  I am bummed the set doesn't have "class of" in it.  Hello?  That would have rocked!  I'll settle for a congrats from the Tin of Cards Stamp set.

The vellum is from the Botanical Garden Vellum Stack (its not even a tropical card!)  And I punched it and the red layer with the Triple Banner Punch.  EASY!  Quick!  My fav!

This card really looks awesome in person–it just doesn't get captured in the photo.  Like the red is stamped with stars–perfect for a grad!

  2. Hi Dena!!! I have to tell you this has got to be the best video I have ever viewed on Vellum. I have it but never use it because of the adhesive issue. If there ever was a better use of vellum I have never seen it. This is so awesome. And the cards you made? Wow! They are totally awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your talents!

  4. Love all of the cards, but the lilac and pink flower cards are particularly beautiful. I will have to get out my vellum and play this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration.
