Flowering Fields Set of Cards

Kylie

So I am so honored to be asked to be featured on my good friend, Kylie's Blog.  She is a fellow demonstrator Down Under and a great friend that I met just about a year ago in person and I've known her a bit longer online!  She is a doll and I am thrilled to have made this project especially for her!  Thanks so much for the invitation, Kylie!!

Easy to create Boxed Set of Cards made with Stampin Up's Flowering Fields Stamp set. Video tutorial on my blog with lots of great tips!

The theme is Thanks-and while I didn't make Thank-You cards, I thought this would make a fantastic THANK YOU gift!  Whether a gift to give to an Easter Dinner Hostess or just a sweet treat to share with a friend, it is the celebration of SPRING!  Now, for those of you reading this from the Southern Hemisphere, I think if you used different colors for the flowers, you'd have a fabulous set of FALL cards!  It is really all how you frame it!

What inspired me to make these cards are all those Adult Coloring Books you see everywhere. They are all over the place in the US–not sure if the craze has spread overseas, but they are absolutely in every store here!  I keep thinking to myself, I love coloring, I love how relaxing it is to color, BUT rather than color in a book, why not color on a card so you can do something fun with it when you are done!  The Flowering Fields stamp set is PERFECT for this, too!  The fine line images remind me of the types of line art you see in some of the coloring books, BUT, they are also small and quick to color!

Aren't they beautiful!?  I love how easy it was to color–just switch up the colors for variety–or keep them the same for a more uniform look!

Coloring is super easy–just a few swishes and you are done!  I used a Black Archival pad to stamp the images.  The speckles are done with the aquapainter–its in the video!

  1. Oh I love this set of cards too! Now, I guess I have to order from you so I can get the VIP rewards and get the info for the box. I just love the sets you have been coming up with. The spring thing is fun for an unexpected gift. I think I will have to treat myself to an order and get that set for SAB as a birthday treat. The card I received from another demo with the #IAMBRINGINGBACK or whatever it says on the envelope was fun. The mail people got a kick out of it and now I have to make them some, One of my neighbors works at the post office. Anyway, I am so glad I found your blog and hope I have subscribed to get everything like newsletter etc. I need to get going on my combo St. Paddy’s Day/Birthday cards for a few of my friends who share the same B-day as me. What a fun day to celebrate! Thanks again for all your inspiration!

  5. Dena, I love the combination of the background DSP and the flower bursting out on top. So very pretty. Thank you for sharing your stamp pad mistake and how you fixed it. Helps me to know what to do to fix mistakes. By the way, I really like your completed card after you fixed the mistake. I think I’ll incorporate that watercolor wash on the background on purpose. Looks great!
