I have not played with my Happy Celebrations set much, so I pullled it out and created a couple cards–and learned the importance of having a well inked black pad…..

  1. Hey Dena girl…I have a question wondering if you might have a suggestion or two. I am trying to get better at watercoloring. I try to do it like you do…Tonite…I was using cold press wc paper and it was pilling. I wet my flower first..Slightly…Then took my lite pink dye ink..Don’t remember which one..Then took my darker color and pulled it out from the center like you do. The paper looks almost like it has embossing powder dust in it but there was no dust anywhere. I used my EMB buddy first…I cleaned out the lid of my ink…Which the lite pink was a brand new pad…Still had the problem. The WC paper if from hobby lobby..Also just purchased ! Yikes I’m so frustrated. I actually had to take a corner of paper towel to brush the dust off my flower. Can you help me? From a damsile in watercoloring that is in distress tht is about to throw the whole damn project in the garbage.love you watch you every day….oxix

  2. Hi Marcia,
I have a feeling that you did not heat your powder up enough to melt it. It takes quite a bit longer on watercolor paper as it is much thicker. I am almost sure that is the problem. The other thing may be to try the other side–there is a bit of a right and wrong side to the paper–usually the smoother side is the wrong side. IT all depends on which paper you are using. Unfortunately,Hobby Lobby is not always know for its quality. It depends on the brand you are using.
