Discover Your Creativity Vol 3

Welcome to Volume 3 of Discover Your Creativity, my weekly series on finding your creative side through paper crafting!  This week we are looking at the 4 types of ink and their uses!

4 Types of Ink: 

Dye Ink: Quick Drying, Water-based ink, translucent color, not color fast (can fade), not permanent; easy to clean up with even just water. Our Classick Ink pads in our 50 Stampin Up colors, plus Memento ink.

Solvent Ink: Permanent, more opaque ink, rich color, will not fade, stains rubber and photopolymer, more difficult to clean off stamps, can stain, VERY quick drying. Best for use with watercolors, Blender Pens. Our StazOn Ink is Solvent ink.

Watermark Ink: A slow drying "watermark" ink that stamps colors of cardstock slightly darker than the cardstock itself.  Also used for heat embossing with embossing powders. Very subtle effect. Versamark ink.

Pigment Ink: Thicker ink with opaque pigments.  Dries slowly and can be used in heat embossing.  Also great to blend different colors. Our Stampin Up Craft White is the only Pigment ink we carry. Will not dry on porous surfaces such as plastic or coated papers.

Gather Your Supplies:

• 1/2 Sheet Thick Basic White cardsock
• 1/2" strip Black Glitter Paper
• Black Memento, Pale Papaya, Magenta Madness, and Fresh Freesia ink pads
• Merry Snowflakes, Encircled in Warmth stamp sets
• Black Matte Dots
• Bone Folder
• Take Your Pick Tool
• Seal

The Black Matte Dots and Glitter paper are PERFECT!

Alternative Version:  Same supplies but substitute StazOn Ink and the stamp set In Bloom plus Tombow Liquid Glue.
