Welcome to The Creative Inking Blog Hop! Whether this is your first stop or you are joining in from the Lovely Lori's Blog, I am just so excited to have you here at The Creativity Cave!  This month we are showcasing DSP (Designer Series Paper) and I HAD to go with the Succulent Garden DSP from the Occasions Catalog.  BUT the best part about DSP is that you can incorporate the layouts with all kinds of different papers!  I decided to pick my LEAST favorite paper from this pack so that I could make something awesome out of it and so my first card, You're The Best is from one side.

And the other side of the paper is my Enjoy card!  BOTH are good–and I love that I came up with something fun for both!!

Gather Your Supplies:

  • 1/2 Sheet of Cardstock (I used Calypso Coral for the top and Sweet sugarplum for the second card, Old Olive for the third)
  • 4 x 5 1/4" piece of printed paper for the top two cards, 3 3/4 x 5 for the bottom one)
  • 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 Old Olive for bottom card
  • 1 1/2 x 3 3/4" Whisper White for bottom card
  • Stitched Shapes Framelits for the top two cards
  • Succulent Garden Combo Pack ribbon

The last card was actually some left over paper from my Oh So Succulent Card Class and it is one of my FAVORITE designs from this DSP pack. I LOVE how this card turned out–the colors are so fun, yet subtle and so I added the sentiment with the Succulent stamp and it is SIMPLE and PERFECT!

  1. I love cards that make DSP the background (or even foreground) of a card. They’re quick to make and give the papers a chance to show off. I often find myself going back to simpler sketches, so these are right up my alley. Thanks.
