Creation Station Blog Hop: Old meets New!

Creation Station Banner

Welcome to The Creation Station Blog Hop!  I am super excited to have you join us for our monthly Hop!  Whether you are joining us from Andrea's Awesome Blog or you are stopping by for your first stop, I am thrilled to have you here!  Our theme this month is New meets Old–the new catalog is here and we are combining some of the fabulous new things in the catalog with some things that have been around a while. I love that concept!  It is so fun to take the new things and add them to our old favorites!

Check out the video tutorial on my blog hilighting the new Marbled Background set as well as other projects from Stampin Up's New Catalog at www.thecreativitycave.com #stampinup #thecreativitycave #marbledbackgroundstamp

I started with the new Marbled Background Stamp!  We have several new background stamps and this one is at the top of my list of must haves!

I combined the Marbled Background with sentiments from Big on Birthdays and All Things Thanks plus the new Mini Sequin Trim and Shimmer Ribbon in Black and Pool Party (I am GIDDY over the black!!!)

Gather Your Supplies:

  • 1/2 Sheet of Pool Party
  • 3 7/8 x 5 1/8" Basic Black
  • 3 3/4 x 5 Whisper White
  • Black Archival Pad
  • Pool Party Pad
  • Big On Birthday's Stamp Set
  • Marbled Background Stamp
  • Layering Circles Framelits
  • Black Shimmer and Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon
  • Black Mini Sequin Trim

Check out the video tutorial on my blog hilighting the new Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper and Large Letters Framelits as well as other projects from Stampin Up's New Catalog at www.thecreativitycave.com #stampinup #thecreativitycave #foilfrenzydesignerseriespaper #largelettersframelits

  • Shimmer Ribbon in Black
  • Basic Polka Dot Embossing Folder

Next, I was THRILLED when I opened my box to see the new Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper–it looked fun in the catalog but is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME in person!!  The photo here does not do it even a teensy bit of justice–this stuff is fun!!  I combined it with the Sparkle Ribbon and the Large Letters Framelits,  The background is embossed with the Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder.

Check out the video tutorial on my blog hilighting the new Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and Jar of Love Stamp set as well as other projects from Stampin Up's New Catalog at www.thecreativitycave.com #stampinup #thecreativitycave #woodtexturesdesignerseriespaper #jaroflove

And I saved the best for last–the new Wood Textures Designer Series Paper is TO DIE FOR!!  I absolutely love this new paper and I am certain I am going to be using lots of it!  It looks fantastic with my fav set, Jar of Love!  A little wood, a little lace and some flowers–PERFECT! I used two of my FAVORITE new ink colors: Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist!  They are so awesome and look great together with Bermuda Bay and Peekaboo Peach.

  1. I love these cards. I have been sort of on the fence about the foil frenzy paper and hadn’t even thought about that marble background, but now they are on my shopping list. I love the jars with the Wood Textures!

  3. WOW cards, Dena. That marble background stamp is on my list, too. I didn’t really give the foiled paper that much of a look. I’ll have to go back to the catalog….AGAIN…and check it out. TFS

  4. As usual, I learn something and laugh until I cry. If I didn’t already have an upline, I would so totally sign up under you. I always enjoy any of your videos you do. You should have been a teacher. You would have great kids in class because they’d all be waiting to see what you did next. Maybe your not an artist in an art community, but, you’re a true artist in the respect that we take plain paper, card stock, whatever we use and ,make it art. Not only changing the colors by adding ink, but by changing the texture and shape by adding LOVE! Thank you so much for adding some LOVE to my life. I really enjoy every video I get from you! Again, Thank YOU so much for sharing and being YOU!
