Welcome to The Creation Station Design Team Blog Hop! I am so thrilled to have you stop by The Creativity Cave! Whether you've just joined me from Julie's amazing blog or this is your first stop, WELCOME! This month our theme is Masculine Cards and I really love this theme as it is one of the card types I get the most requests for-that and Sympathy cards!
So, I decided to go SUPER Simple this time! I have several reasons for that–first of all these are cards for guys. And let's be honest–very few of the recievers of my masculine cards have a great deal of appreciation for the time put into them. That doesn't mean they don't appreciate that I made an amazing card for them, but rather they don't get as excited about the techniques, embellishments, and time it took. And speaking from experience, they like things simple. Uncomplicated. :) Now that does NOT mean that I don't make amazing cards for them as well. I mean I can't just keep my awesomeness out of my cards! 😉 But seriously, I actually thing one of the more difficult things to do is make really classy, smart, SIMPLE cards!
I love these cards because they are basically the same: a piece of printed paper, a punch accent, and a label with a greeting stamped. Piece of cake when you have the right tools!
All of them use the same supplies (the only difference is the punched accent). For this card, I used the Decorative Label punch in Black behind my label (all the labels are from the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelit Set.
Gather Your supplies:
- 1/2 Sheet Very Vanilla plus scrap for Label
- 3 7/8 x 5 1/8" Basic Black plus scrap for punch
- 3 3/4 x 5" printed paper (from Going Places Paper Stack–on the retiring list!!)
- Black Archival Pad
- Going Global Stamp Set
So simple! Of course I couldn't stop at one!!
So this one is totally my fav! I LOVE the cool paper on this one! I punched the punch using the 1 3/4" scallop Circle punch (on the retiring list—NOOOOO!) The video shows how I made it look like a medallion! SO cool!!
I stamped the globe image off so it was a lighter shade of Lost Lagoon on the Label, and added the greeting on top in Black.
Doesn't it look fantastic!? I need to make a few more of these!! The medallion is Mossy Meadow as well as the layer, and the Card Base is Lost Lagoon.
This card used a label in Sahara Sand (still stamped in black archival ink) and the punch is the Label Bracket Punch in Black.
So easy! So cool!
This card is one of my favorites–I think the reason I love it is the message is so perfect–and so simple! I just punched it with a 1" circle and popped it up on the printed paper. SO easy but I love the words! Great for an Anniversary Card, but even better as a surprise card that you just leave behind for no reason! I love leaving little love notes for my husband from time to time to remind him that I love him or that I am thankful for him. I think he likes them, too!
Since this literally took 5 minutes to make, it is perfect for a quick and easy card to share!
