Creation Station Blog Hop: Christmas

Creation station Header

Thank you so much for joining us on The Creation Station Blog Hop!!  Whether you are joining us from the AMAZING Kimberly Van Diepen or this is your first stop, I am so glad you are here at The Creativity Cave! This month's Theme is Christmas (no surprise!).  I think my post should be called all that's gold and glitters!

Stampin Up's Peaceful Pines and Embellished Ornaments with Winter Wonderland Vellum and a touch of Gold Glimmer make for a gorgeous Christmas Card!

This month's selected sets were Embellished Ornaments and Peaceful Pines with the Winter Wonderland Vellum Stack.  Yes, please!  I have just loved working with all things gold and glimmery (or to be honest all things glimmery) this Holiday Season!  The gold vellum is perfect with the gold glimmer paper and I made great use of it in today's post!

My first card uses the Embellished Ornaments, and I'll admit I have hardly used this set, but oh my gosh!  What was I waiting for??  It s absolutely beautiful and I am really loving how my card turned out!

I stamped the ornament in Soft Sky ink on white cardstock and cut it out with the framelit.  I also cut an ornament with the Vellum and then cut the ornament topper thingy plus the beautiful little poinsettia-lookin center in gold glimmer.  I figured it would be a little extra shimmer  to bring out the vellum.

I popped it up on a Pear Pizzazz layer that I stamped a few Holly Branches on (both full-strength and stamped off) and  added the greeting at the bottom.  For a little extra punch, I added a SUPER skinny layer of mossy meadow cardstock and popped that up on the Soft Sky card.  BEEEEEAUTIFUL!!

For the Peaceful Pines card, I went back to my Advent Calendar Tags (check out the post on those).  I have loved them and never could pick my favorite so I thought I'd just start with one and go from there.  I decided my favorite tree is the one that is little speckles, so I stamped them across my Pear Card.  I then cut a 2×4" vellum and vanilla piece and punched them with my Scallop Tag Topper Punch.

To create the tree, I die-cut the large tree in pear and gold glimmer, then ran the pear tag through a second time with the little strings of dots thinlit.  It pokes the little holes and allows just a touch of the gold glimmer tree to show through when layered together!!!  LOVE THAT!  I added a snowflake and a greeting at the bottom.  One more thing–I thought it may be pretty to put a little peek of gold glimmer along the side of my card, so I trimmed just a sliver (like between 1/8 and 1/16" off the front of my card and then glued in a skinny strip of the gold glimmer paper down. I just love how it looks!!
