Welcome to The Creation Station Blog Hop! Whether this is your first stop or you are joining in from the absolutely lovely Denita's Blog, I am just so excited to have you here at The Creativity Cave! This month our theme is "Bird is the Word" and don't get mad at me but EVERY TIME I HEAR THE THEME, the Grease sound track is running through my head…you're welcome!
My first card uses the LOVELY and amazing Petal Palette Suite of products (Don't miss my online class for this suite coming out later this month!!) It is a simple card with LOTS of great touches!
Gather Your Supplies:
- Half Sheet Crumb Cake Cardstock
- Scrap of Vanilla CS
- Scrap of black cs
- Scrap of Crumb Cake to die cut second to largest label
- Lots of Labels Framelits
- Petal Palette Bundle (set and framelits)
- Crumb Cake and Black Ink
- Black metallic thread
- Black Marker
- Clear Wink of Stella
- Petal Pair Embossing Folders
I love the touches of texture with the embossing, the shimmer of the Wink of Stella, the metallic thread and the stamping and die cutting!
Isn't it fantastic! I think you could do this in lots of other colors as well, but I kind of liked the simplicity of this neutral one!
Next I knew I wanted to use the Best Birds Stamp set and coordinating framelits!
Gather Your Supplies:
- Petal Passion DSP (approx 6 x 9")
- 3 1/4 x 4 3/4" Whisper White
- 3 1/2 x 5 Pool Party
- Scraps of white and pool party for punching and die cutting
- Pool Party Baker's Twine
- Mini Treat Bag thinlits
- 2" and Starburst punches
- Fast Fuse
- Black and Pool Party inks
- Black Marker
- Best Bird and Birds and Blossoms thinlits
I stamped the texture from this set "off" and added the sentiment in Black on top–when I punched it, I made sure to leave lots of space for the bird to fit above.
The insert card just has a few of the beautiful blossoms on it, which fit perfectly with this DSP!! BEST yet: It will fit in a standard envelope for mailing!!

I really like that card in a bag. The blue and black are lovely together.
Great projects! Love how you used the black metallic thread on the crumb cake card.
Oh Dena they are both stunning, I’ve never heard of the “Best Birds” set, I’ll need to look for it, that little diet birdie is so pretty. Thanks for sharing with us Dena.
Great projects Dena! Love your card in the gift bag idea!!
