Crazy Crafters Blog Hop Special Guest!

Case Blog Hop

Well, I have to admit, I am feeling pretty special!!  My dear friend, Kylie Bertucci from Australia along with her team of demonstrators choose me to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) for their blog hop!  What an honor!!  Kylie and her team are amazing stampers and I can’t tell you how cool it is that they like my work on another entire hemisphere!!  I don’t want to toot my own horn, but being revered in 2 hemispheres is pretty cool! 🙂  All kidding aside, I  am incredibly honored that they wanted to CASE my work!  Now, the really hard part was to pick a card of my own and CASE it!!

Your work can be like your kids:  You love them all equally, right?  NAAAAAH!!!!!  I totally have cards that I love and other cards that I think to myself, “what made me think that was a good idea?” or my personal favorite, “that is bad.  do not share.”  Luckily those don’t ever make it to my blog, but I am always surprised at what people think is amazing vs what I think is amazing.  I cannot wait to see what everyone picks in the hop!  I am giddy just thinking about it! 🙂

After a LENGTHY decision process, here is what I came up with:

CASE inspiration card for the Crazy Crafter's CASE the Designer Blog Hop

I made this card a few weeks ago for a challenge (and I LOVED this card–especially the colors!) You can see the post and video tutorial here.  I knew I was not done with this concept, and so I used the layout and came up with this:

Beautiful Card using Pretty Petals DSP Stack from Stampin Up and the Bold Butterflies Framelits.

I LOVE the Pretty Petals DSP Paper Stack-It is so pretty and has some great color options.  Plus it has black in it–HELLO!?!?!  That is so my fav!

I used 3/4″ strips on the card (they were 1/2″ on the card I was CASING).  I picked patterns with a darker/solid color to them–vs the ones with lots of “white space”).

I toyed with a lot of options for what to stamp in the “white space” area. I settled on a Butterfly that was sitting on my desk. I love the look!  I used Wink of Stella on the Calypso Coral butterfly and then added the Black detailed butterfly on top with a Blushing Bride flower (from the Tree Builder Punch) on the top with a pearl.  The Greeting is from Remembering Your Birthday. I added some gold thread behind the butterfly.

I just love how the card turned out and I hope you liked it, too!  Please check out the other fabulous blogs and their CASEd projects–I am so excited to see what everyone picked!
