Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! I am so thrilled to have you here at The Creativity Cave!! Whether this is your first stop or you are joining in from my amazing friend, Kelly's Blog, I am just so excited to have you here!!
This month's kit is GORGEOUS and creates 8 beautiful cards with envelopes and a BEAUTIFUL gift box with a tag and coordinating ribbon. So Pretty!
I really had a blast creating with the kit!! I LOVE how Stampin Up included so many extra pieces so that we could continue to create fun projects! PLUS, as of this morning, if you are a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber, you can get refills of this (and several other kits) so you can create even more fun cards–the refills are just $8! You can find them in my online store under Paper Pumpkin Past Kits.
I created this trio of cards by creating a mask with the negative piece from the laser cut flowers that came in the kit. I added some Post It's and sponged the flower onto my card, that way I could keep making cards with my kit after my laser cut pieces were used up–and in any color I want!
After Sponging, I watercolored with just plain water of the sponged ink to create a more sophisticated look. Watercolor paper is the key!
Gather Your Supplies:
- 1/2 Sheet Very Vanilla
- 3 3/4 x 5 Berry Burst (or Daffodil Delight and Peekaboo Peach for the other two cards)
- 3 5/8 x 4 7/8 Watercolor Paper
- Berry Burst, Black Memento, Lemon Lime Twist Ink pads (or Daffodil Delight and Peekaboo Peach for the other two cards)
- Sponge and/or Sponge Brayer
- Post It's
- August 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit
- Clear Faceted Gems
Isn't this darling? So easy, too!
Here is another card I created–Love that loopy half flower stamp image!! The circle in the center is 1" and 1/2" circle punches with Peekaboo Peach Cardstock.
And this card just used kit pieces plus a Notecard and envelope!
Oh my gosh–so many possibilities with this kit! Hope you loved these projects!

Great idea, Dena, using the negative as a stencil!
Brilliant idea to use the die cut sheet as a mask! I love how you cut a hole out of the middle of a piece of card stock to mask off the shapes you didn’t want to sponge. So much easier than trying to place several sticky notes all around it…which is probably what I would have done :-O Thanks for sharing 😀
Awesome! I saved my negative pieces too – for using as a mask! I love your cards – so cute!
Thanks so much, Monika! They will really make this set stretch!! 🙂
Thanks, Kimberly–I did just use a bunch of post its 🙂
Thanks so much, Jennifer!
Great idea to create your own stencil! I love your bright, clean and simple cards.
Thanks so much, Sara! I love how easy they are to create!
Of all times that I put the negative part in the recycle bin this was the kit after I made it up. But, I just remembered I ordered a refill so now I can still do it. I have been tasked to provide some thank you card for the church we used to go to when we lived in Houston. They want to give their volunteers and others cards for helping with the flood. I thought these would be fun and a bit different. I really liked the sponged flowers you did with the coordinating mat. Easy peasy, fast and easy! Thanks Dena! Off to watch your video.
