Creation Station Blog Hop: Tricks of the Trade

This month, we are talking about Tricks of the Trade!  I love this idea–and it is one of the things I like to showcase in every post (especially in my videos)–great tips and tricks for your stamping! I decided to focus on two sets PERFECT for Fall: Colorful Seasons and Painted Harvest!

For my first card, I created a fantastic fall card with a lovely color combo using Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Fresh Fig, and Early Espresso.

Gather Your Supplies:

• 1/2 Sheet Fresh Fig
• 3 3/4 x 5" Very Vanilla
• 3 7/8 x 5 1/8" Early Espresso
• Scrap of Vanilla for die cutting
• Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles Framelits
• Colorful Seasons and All Things Thanks Stamp Sets
• Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Fresh Fig, and Early Espresso ink pads
• Fresh Fig Ribbon
• Gold Metallic Thread
• Fresh Fig Marker
• Clear Wink of Stella

The solid leaves are all stamped off to create a subtle look on both the circle die as well as the background.  The detail image is stamped in Early Espresso as well as the sentiment.

My Second card uses a softer, cooler color scheme: Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and Elegant Eggplant

Gather Your Supplies:

• 1/2 Sheet Rich Razzleberry
• 3 3/4 x 5" Very Vanilla
• 3 7/8 x 5 1/8" Elegant Eggplant
• Scrap of Vanilla
• Painted Harvest Bundle (set and leaf punch)
• Count Your Blessings (sentiment)
• Music Score Background Stamp
• Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry
• Sponges
• Silver Metallic Thread
• Clear Wink of Stella

I love the look of the popped up flower–you have to fussy cut it–but it is awesome!

I love the background–it pairs perfectly with this stamp set!  And the sponging really adds a great touch to the card!
